2nd opinions are always your friend!
If you take your diesel truck to a shop and they tell you your Turbo Diesel or Tractor needs a new motor, do yourself a favor and get a 2nd opinion. This is when having a mechanic whose opinion you trust can REALLY come in handy. The Dealership is not really in the business of “fixing” diesel trucks. They are in the sales game…not that there is anything wrong with that. Just as long as you recognize that their interests and yours are not always as aligned as you might think….
Bottom line your local independent Diesel Mechanic can help you out a lot with many repairs and they will generally complete work quicker and waaaay cheaper than a dealership.
Make it your business BEFORE you have a major break down to find out who is doing great service in the town where you live.
Do some local research
Ask other Diesel Truck Enthusiasts in your area who they use and who they like. Local Facebook groups are great for this because oftentimes your most economical choice for repairs will be a small shop off the beaten path.
